Facial Angiofibromas
A socially embarrassing rash of reddish spots or bumps, consisting of blood vessels and fibrous tissue, can appear on the nose and cheeks in a butterfly distribution. These can be removed using dermabrasion, laser treatment or diathermy electrolysis treatment.
Forehead plaques: Raised, discoloured areas on the forehead which may react positively to Short Wave Diathermy electrolysis treatment. The needle is inserted fractionally into the blemish and the current expelled to cauterise the blood vessels. If appropriate the fibrous tissue can be scraped away after which a scab will form which should then visibly reduce the appearance of the blemish.
